Letting nature reveal itself

Letting nature reveal itself

As a wedding photographer, I’ve learnt the value of letting go of rigid expectations. When you’re glued to a checklist of must-have shots, you risk missing the quiet, beautiful things unfolding around you. You step out of the moment, even if just slightly - and that’s often where the magic lies.

I try to bring that same mindset to The Wildwood Press. When I go out foraging, I don’t head into nature with a strict idea of what I’ll collect to press. Instead, I let the landscape guide me. I try to take in everything around me - let the place reveal itself in its own time.

It’s a freeing way to work. I’m never too disappointed if a place doesn’t look quite as I pictured it. More often than not, I discover something entirely unexpected - something I would’ve missed if I’d stuck too closely to a plan.
